May have found an affordable gas mask?

After looking over the China offerings. I think one would be better off sticking with the bottom two links on this post. And buying from a US company. Its a bit more. But worth it I think. I also think based on the youtube viseo below. That either would work well. But I am going to try to go try both on. And let you know what I think. These couoled with a new 40mm isreali cbrn filter from ebay or elsewhere. Would be a good combo. But I'm still looking.

This thread started as a help me identify these gas masks. To actually idenitfying them. Finding one of them on alibaba for $43. And a solid youtube review from the top gas mask reviewer. This is the mask i eventually found.

This came in my email this morning. Its from my local surplus store. I've been looking for gas masks. But good quality gi ones are very hard to find now. And condition is a crap shoot. The next option is cicilian which dominated by mira. Which are $200+ gas masks. There are a couole lesser brands like Parsons. But still very expensive.

This is probably a chinese knockoff of a civilian brand? Idk. What does the hivemind think?

Yeah, but those go for $250 and up....It's probably something like a Chinese MF-14. The MF-14 is priced closer to the one in the OP.

Heres the cheap one on ebay. Its basically called a gas mask 6800. Looking for reviews. But it doesnt look like it takes nato filters.

Neither of these have completely good reviews. But you can get the second one. The 6800 for $33 with one filter on alibaba. Without filter i think its $23. Might be worth a try. The second one looks better. But idk.

Really hard to find a gas mask under $150. Which is crazy to me. I wonder what happened to all thw gas masks from the 80s and 90s? Had to be a crap load of those surplus. 

I might go try both os these on at my surplus store and see what i think.

My concern over stuff from sites like Alibaba and Wish is consistency in quality.  A lot of listings on these types of sites (in general) seem to claim to be one thing, but they actually have several different versions of varying quality and it's hit or miss if you get something decent even from the exact same listing.  I just feel like it's not worth it to try to save money with untrustworthy sources on something that you may have to entrust your life with.

I felt slightly better about it watching the review, but then he mentioned how the one he got was different than the one listed (the listed one had a clear nose piece) and that put me back to not trusting that listing for something this important.

Checkout my original post. I updated it. I forgot to mention it down here. I think the us option is a better one. Returning something to china is unlikely. And their site and app is scammy. I agree with you.

I've read that a hood version helps this. I have a large goatee. With similar concerns. But these larger ones like im that youtube vid. Look like they hit well under the chin. And as long as your beard isnt down your neck. They look like they will work.

I'm going to try both of these on this week. I'll report back if i do.

Two Israeli civilian ones here, with a single 40mm NBC cartridge each.  Mainly for a bugout through a forest fire (by vehicle) for the wife and I if needed.  Have a couple Tyvek suits (with hoods), gloves, and boot covers in the bag with them too.  The latter stuff isn't for forest fires, but could come in handy for one last 'surprise' against any filthy bastards before they defeat me at my Alamo.

The idea for preps is to be ready in case of the worst.  If your best/last option comes down to a well-fitting mask that could save your health/life, would you not be willing to trim or shave for that?
