Ordered a full set of wipers for the Jeep, and front wipers for my wife's Honda Pilot.

That reminds me. I need to check the wipers on my truck and see if I need to replace them or if they're still good.

Might not be a bad idea to grab a spare set anyway.

Ordered.   :greenguy:

Edit: I know when I put that set on him and about how many years they last (they're silicone), so I know they're due.  New silicone set will be there by the 29th.  (might be your truck now, but he's still Cherie's baby)

I replaced wipers myself on Friday.  They were due a while ago and i hadn't gotten around to it. . . 2" of rain was a good reminder.

I've been wanting to see my off-road lights from above at night, to see if they cover what I want.  I sent up my DJI Flip just after midnight and shot this raw video.  (The description box on YouTube lists the various lights)

Amazing we live in a time where the technology to get a viewpoint like that is available to ordinary people.  I dabbled in film making when I was a teenager - Super-8 stuff.  I was always scheming how I might possibly be able to create a convincing helicopter shot.

I bet that was one of my hare-brained ideas back then.

Found out I may have a blockage or something causing an issue with the AC in my truck.

I went to check the freon in it and maybe top it off to see if that'd fix the issue with it not cooling right. Had it going full blast like the instructions on the freon can said to do and it barely got cold. It wasn't blowing hot, but it wasn't freezing cold either. Sort of like lukewarm, I'd guess.

So now I've got to see if my brother the mechanic can take a look at it and fix it.

ETA: Google is saying it can be one of three things, either it's low on refrigerant (not likely in this case since the gauge I have says otherwise), there's a blown fuse/bad AC clutch relay/low pressure or a stuck blender door actuator.

I'm leaning towards the blender door actuator being stuck, which I hope is an easy fix. But with my luck it won't be.

Check 3 things

With the a/c running, temp set at coldest but not on max setting, with the fan blowing at about mid speed.

1. Shine a flashlight on the compressor and watch to see that its spinning longer than its not spinning.

If its clicking on and off and staying on and off at about the same time interval you need more freon.

2. Put your hand on the cold side pipe coming out of the compressor and it should be really cold after a few minutes, even start to sweat.

Not cold, compressor is bad or not enough freon.

3. Even if your vent control isn't working, cold air should be blowing out of either the floor, dash, or defrost vent.

If you have it set on dash and it's blowing out the defrost something is broke in the vacuum or electric modal controls. No air flowing anywhere, check the blower motor, fuse, Voltage in value.

Thanks for the info, Mac.

I'll see if I can get my brother to check it out maybe this next week as well and get his opinion. If anything needs to be replaced, I can just get him a 12 pack of beer and he'll install it for me.

A lot cheaper than taking it to a shop and paying 500 to 600 bucks to replace a part even if I provide said part.

That compressor was installed by me in 2007 after the original grenaded. I cleaned and flushed the whole system, and installed a filter/dryer, and orifice valve. I checked the system before sending the truck to you and pressures were good. May very well be the controller in the dash. That got replaced in 2011 with a used one for a similar issue.

I'll see how much one will run me at the local AutoZone (friend of mine is a manager there and can get me a discount) and then see if my brother can install it for me.

They most likely won't have it.  I had to go to a junkyard and pull one off a different model truck because the part wasn't available.

Well, crap.

ETA: Looks like my options are junkyard or see if my brother can find one for me since he's got more contacts in the mechanical world than I do.

Try eBay, but beware Chinese imports.  I think the one in there is one of those.  We had trouble getting it hooked up.

Only drawback to Ebay is I don't have an account with them.

Never really did much there except browse the auctions when I was younger and look at what stuff people were selling.
