Potential Trucker Strike Oct 1

I encountered a rumor on social media recently that truckers plan to strike 1 October in the US.  At first, it was just prepper types and other random people saying they heard it from someone else, but today, I started seeing some trucking-related companies saying it themselves as well as posters like one from 3 Girls Truck Parking in Texas announcing the intended strike.  This isn't surprising given the input to income ration is rapidly becoming untenable.  

I had seen something similar was supposed to be happening this week, but that one didn't seem to catch any steam.  Maybe the 1 October one won't either, but supply chain disruptions are inevitable if things don't improve soon.  It's just a matter of when the moving parts hit the breaking point.  

Now would be a good time to double check your preps.

No confirmed national trucker strike is scheduled in the US or Canada. What is happening is a fast-moving October 1 rumor on X, plus a few real local or overseas actions. Those are not the same thing.

US strike trackers list no planned transport strikes in the next 30 days. Teamsters, ATA-style industry coverage, and trucking trade press have not announced a nationwide Oct. 1 walkout. The official Teamsters account is posting about local fights (Encore Boston Harbor casino workers, tankhaul locals in CA/PA), not a national road-freight shutdown. The next widely discussed large Teamsters fight is UPS in 2028, not this fall.

In the last 24–48 hours, X has filled with posts claiming US truckers will strike Oct. 1 over fuel prices / diesel. The loudest version is a viral compilation telling people to stockpile food, buy generators, and prepare for a "COVID-style lockdown."
