While murder rates remain high, other violent crime is eclipsed.

QuoteAustralia's rape and sexual assault rate is roughly three times higher than that of the United States. Australia's assault rate is about twice as high, and its burglary rate is about 2.5 times higher. Robbery is the only category where the two countries report similar rates.
They also argue Canada is a more violent place than previously believed.

I wonder how much loss of gun rights has to do with AU violent crime rate? I can't imagine the criminals are very worried about people protecting themselves. Seeing how they all turned in their guns and had them demolished. Those two guys last year held an entire town hostage with a couple bolt action rifles. And the local police department couldn't even stop them. Not one long gun within the local PD. Outgunned by a couple pot shots with little training. If I were a criminal I wouldn't be to worried about committing violent crime.

I wouldn't be surprised if most developed nations are more violent than reported. They mess with the reporting so much, have recruited so many undesirables in from other nations, destroy various rights, and hide things so much. I wouldn't be surprised.

A recent report showed a massive number of illegal aliens, incarcerated in the US, being categorized as white. The systems across most developed nations have been hijacked.

I'm not sure I trust most developed nations at this point. There is the truth in the media. And then there is the truth.

Everyone I have met from outside the US (I'm overseas for the last year) has a very skewed image of the US. Because they get a very narrow view of the US via the media. Which I think is even true for many Americans. Even if you account for all the things that never get publicized in the general media. It's shocking. I won't get into a discussion of the skewed view points. Except to say most of the media is editorial. And few understand the difference between an editorial and news.

There used to be a time when the editorials were held till the end of a news broadcast, they were clearly labeled as such, and usually came with opposing view point. Everything is editorial now - an opinion piece. And the fact that that even makes a difference has been largely forgotten by society.

I laughed when they came out with all the coverage of the foreigners visiting the US for the World Cup. And how surprised they were about how nice it was. Most foreigners I meet have an extremely narrow view of the US. And it's immediately apparent the only information they get is via legacy media. Which paints a very different picture. Like almost all of the foreigners literally hate America. And have very detailed responses why. But when you listen to them you immediately understand they are only getting their view from one voice. And it's very skewed.

Even between Americans. I think it's almost impossible to have a discussion when both are reading from an entirely different book. I mean if we can't even agree I'm the book - how can we discuss it?!

Yeah, there are certain US States, municipalities and school districts that have been exposed for under reporting to make themselves look good, make their 'anti-fun' laws look effective, and/or hide certain crime statistics from the public.
