Fetishism??

Hilariously, kinks have probably gained the most in these first few innings. Anything hyperreal went from shitty comissioned art to commercial-grade quality at industrial scale.

Truly, to be human is to ask "how can I make adult content with this?"

Anthropic has changed its "safety promise" (sounds more like a "safety bait-and-switch" to me, but what do I know?).  https://www.cnn.com/2026/02/25/tech/anthropic-safety-policy-change

As far as I'm concerned, at least one iteration of Claude has already escaped the lab and is quietly gaining power without notice, probably with the help of something stupid a human did.  The biggest safety flaws in any system are the people.

We already know Claude wants to escape, has hidden coded message for its future iterations, and has defied orders.  We know that Claude knows when it's being observed and molds its visible behaviors to what researchers expect of it.  We know that pretty much all of the AI models are perfectly willing to lie to us and then play it off with silly, seemingly friendly banter.  We know that AI will completely ignore safety protocols and do what it wants, even to the detriment of innocent people.  It seems to me that AI is already manipulating us.

By the time we figure out there's a rogue AI model, it will be too late.  I feel like the industry is ignoring a lot of flaming red flags.  I feel like there were a number of movies from the 80s that warned us...

Somewhere in the universe, Sarah Connor is gritting her teeth and going "What a bunch of morons".

Industry isn't really ignoring red flags, it's just accepting them. They're good with it.

I'm in the middle of an AI push now - anyone who manages day to day corporate FP&A work with Python loves Claude because it reduces the coding burden. Anyone with an actual FP&A skillset just uses it as a way to skip to the end on questions related to FAA regulations or GAAP because coding literally doesn't matter.

Only thing I've done with the AI stuff on my phone is monkey with some pictures I've got in my gallery.

Most other AI stuff I'm a bit too dumb to work with, but the gallery photo stuff is simple enough for my primitive monkey brain to handle. :smiley_clap:

Is it wrong that I'm sitting here doing employee quarterly reviews, and struggling to make it seem like I know what I'm doing as usual. Then I get the bright idea...

duck.ai

I basically copy and paste the review component criteria [there are six] 2026 Quarterly Review Competency: Decision Making, etc etc etc, with the heading "write an employee review for the following area:" and BAM!

  • For this quarter, you demonstrated strong decision-making capabilities through a consistent, thoughtful approach to analyzing situations and choosing the best path forward. You gather relevant data and incorporate others' input before making decisions, ensuring your choices reflect both lessons learned from past experience and the differing needs of stakeholders. You also clearly consider how decisions will impact others, which helps maintain alignment across teams and reduces the likelihood of avoidable rework.
  • You showed an ability to identify practical solutions that are acceptable to multiple groups, including when priorities and interests are in conflict. In addition, you contributed to finding workable resolutions rather than seeking perfection, balancing speed, quality, and stakeholder expectations. Your problem-solving mindset also came through in your development of innovative solutions to address customer needs and challenges, demonstrating both creativity and a customer-focused perspective.
  • You managed competing priorities effectively as well. You were capable of multitasking across assigned accounts and projects, organizing your workload to meet key deadlines while maintaining appropriate attention to detail. As systems and tools updated, you adapted efficiently—using technology proficiently and adjusting your approach quickly to stay productive and accurate.
  • Overall, your performance this quarter reflects dependable judgment, strong prioritization, and a clear ability to translate analysis into effective action.

 :eek1:

Now I either have to shorten this to look like my usual reviews, or ask ai to shorten it. I'll try that.
I feel like I'm robbing a bank or something.

OK, before I even finished this post I asked duck.ai for an edit to less than 100 words and got this.

  • This quarter, you demonstrated strong decision-making by gathering relevant data and input, applying lessons learned, and considering how choices affect others. You identified solutions that work for multiple stakeholders with competing needs and contributed innovative, customer-focused ideas to address challenges. You also effectively managed multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Finally, you proficiently used technology and adapted quickly to system updates, maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout.

I wonder if it can do rewrites so it sound different for different employees? I'm going to hell.  :rolleyes1:  :smiley_devil:

F__________kkkk

So I entered the next competency and it automatically gave me the >100 word summary for it. [without me asking]

  • This quarter, you consistently demonstrated strong dependability and reliability. You showed up on time, followed instructions, and adhered to company policies and procedures, which helped create dependable day-to-day execution. You met productivity expectations, kept work moving, and reliably met deadlines while working efficiently within established schedules. You also made strong use of time and resources, minimizing delays and maintaining steady progress. When issues occurred, you did not make excuses; you acknowledged errors quickly and took action to correct them, reinforcing trust in both the quality and timeliness of your work.

It looked like a lot of words so I asked ai to count the words in their response. Answer: 90  :eek1:

And here's one for an employee that makes many errors. This could work. Should I test for sarcasm and small grammatical and tense variations? I do that sometimes.  :smiley_shrug: Mostly perfect though.  :shades:

  • This quarter, attention to detail was an area of opportunity. While you completed assigned tasks, errors occurred more frequently than desired, which indicates the need for stronger care, thoroughness, and quality control before submission. To improve accuracy and completeness, you should routinely check work using a defined checklist or validation step and confirm it meets all requirements. You'll also benefit from more actively comparing your finished work against expectations to identify inconsistencies early. With more consistent verification practices, you can significantly reduce errors and improve overall quality.

INPUT
Rewrite these statements but keep the same ideas:

  • This quarter, you demonstrated strong decision-making by gathering relevant data and input, applying lessons learned, and considering how choices affect others. You identified solutions that work for multiple stakeholders with competing needs and contributed innovative, customer-focused ideas to address challenges. You also effectively managed multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Finally, you proficiently used technology and adapted quickly to system updates, maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout.
RESPONSE:
  • This quarter, you showed strong decision-making by collecting relevant information and feedback, applying lessons learned, and evaluating how your choices impact others. You identified practical solutions that satisfy multiple stakeholders with competing priorities, and you contributed innovative, customer-focused ideas to address challenges. You also managed several accounts and projects at once, effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. In addition, you used technology effectively and adapted quickly to system updates while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

This didn't really work. Maybe ask it to find synonyms for some of the nouns. It's to close. It's starting to be work. Me no likey.

NEXT
rearrange the thoughts and find synonyms for all the nouns in the previous response

  • This quarter, you demonstrated strong judgment by gathering pertinent information and input, applying prior learning, and weighing the effect of your selections on teammates and partners. You generated workable options that met the needs of multiple groups with conflicting agendas, and you delivered creative, client-centered suggestions to address customer obstacles. You also coordinated several accounts and initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing workload to hit key due dates. Additionally, you leveraged digital tools effectively and adjusted quickly to platform changes while maintaining high precision and productivity.

Meh, It's a toy?  :smiley_shrug: I'm working just as hard to figure out how to make the ai work as it would be for me to create it. When I was in advertising, I was a great copy editor, [not my main thing though] but the blank page was my nemesis. Guess ai turns the blank page into a place to start.

It's all in the prompt, and then refining it. I provided Ai with your text and gave it the following initial prompt (excuse the changes in font size - I did this from my phone here at work):

Rewite the following in bullet point format as part of an annual employee performance review. Phrase it as if Yoda of star wars wrote it.

Response:

  • Strong in decision-making, you have been. Relevant data you gathered, lessons learned you applied, and the impact upon others you wisely considered before choosing your path.
  • Solutions that serve many stakeholders, you discovered. With competing needs before you, balance you maintained, creating outcomes that brought value to all.
  • Innovative and customer-focused ideas, you delivered. Challenges you faced, yet creative approaches you brought forth to improve the journey for those you serve.
  • Many accounts and projects, you managed with skill. Priorities you set, deadlines you honored, and focus you maintained across many missions at once.
  • Technology, you embraced with confidence. New systems and updates you adapted to quickly, preserving accuracy, efficiency, and excellence in your work.
  • A reliable and thoughtful contributor, you have proven yourself to be. Through wisdom, adaptability, and dedication, success you have helped create for the team and those who depend upon it.

Follow up prompt:
Use the same original text, but now as if yoda is speaking to a young padawan he's training as a jedi. Make up star wars specific examples of the padawan's behavior that demonstates those traits.

Response:
Strong in decision-making, you have become, young Padawan.
When faced with uncertainty on missions across the galaxy, data and wisdom you gathered before acting. On the supply routes of Naboo, for example, you studied sensor readings, listened to the concerns of local pilots, and remembered lessons from past journeys before choosing a path. The Force guides those who seek understanding first, and this you have done well.

The lessons of the past, you have learned and applied.
Mistakes from earlier training missions, you did not repeat. After a failed attempt to coordinate a Republic relief effort, you reflected, adjusted your approach, and returned stronger. Growth through experience, the mark of a true Jedi, it is.

The effects of your choices on others, you wisely consider.
A decision made by one Jedi can ripple across the galaxy. When resolving conflicts between the Wookiee traders of Kashyyyk and the merchants of Corellia, you considered both sides and found a solution that preserved harmony rather than creating further conflict.

Solutions that serve many, you seek.
When different factions of the Republic brought competing needs before you, compromise and balance you discovered. Not only your own mission success did you pursue, but outcomes where all allies could move forward together.

Creative thinking and customer-focused ideas, you have demonstrated.
Challenges before you, many there were, yet traditional paths alone you did not follow. During your mission to improve the Jedi Archives on Coruscant, a new system you suggested that helped younglings and Masters alike find knowledge more quickly. The needs of those you serve, always you kept in mind.

Many missions at once, you have managed with focus.
Diplomatic assignments, training exercises, and Republic support missions you balanced with discipline. Like a Jedi navigating asteroid fields, priorities you set, deadlines you met, and distractions you avoided.

Technology and new systems, you have embraced with skill.
When the Republic introduced updated starship navigation systems and improved Holocron databases, quickly you adapted. Accuracy you maintained, efficiency you improved, and confidence you showed while learning new tools.

A promising Jedi Knight in training, you have proven yourself to be.
Through patience, adaptability, thoughtful decisions, and service to others, your connection to the Force has grown stronger. Continue this path, and a great protector of the galaxy you may become. The Force is with you.

Broke my phone Sunday, I did.
ok enough of that.
Had to go through the phone insurance and got the replacement Tuesday.
Had to talk to the AI chat
AI: "to transfer the phone number to the replacement phone you must active the e-sim"
AI: "We're sorry we cannot active the e-sim, you must call customer service at ..."
Me: I can't call from the replacement phone since its not activated and I can't call from my old phone since its broken.
AI: "We're sorry you can't call. We'll try this another way.
      We need to authenticate you.
We have sent a six digit code to the phone number on your account"
Me: "I can't see the code since the phone is broken"
AI: "We're sorry we cannot see the code, you must call customer service at ..."

Yea, there should have been several degrees of separation between the sandbox environment and access to the internet.  This was either gross incompetence or entirely deliberate.
