Sounds like something from that 80's show "Riptide".

I always had to chuckle at "Mimi".  That was my step-mother's nickname.

That show had one of the most memorable exchanges of any TV show I watch.  Talking to John Austin playing the character of Baxter Bernard, world's richest man, who just gave them his personal credit card to cover expenses:

Them: "Baxter Bernard Card?  Why's it blue?"

Him: "Because the sky's the limit!"

Which turns out to be true because later in the episode Mimi breaks down and they need a helo quick, so they use it to buy a brand new Bell Jet Ranger (about $2,000,000 back then)

Reminds me of third grade when I (true story) told Mrs. Miller that it couldn't be a coincidence that the east coast of South America fit almost perfectly into the west coast of Africa.  I said maybe they were once part of the same continent.  Her response: "That's the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard, Mr. Havoc.  Continents don't just float across oceans!  Now sit down and not another silly notion from you!"

Maybe if I had thought to call the joined contient "Pangea" I could have collected my Nobel Prize at age eight and told batty old Mrs. Miller to go fuck herself and stop squashing her students' out of the box thinking.  Not that I'm at all still bitter about it after all these years.  No siree ...
