I was just looking on the Costco site and realized, holy crap, it's now the day after the First Day of Summer, and they don't have a single Halloween or Christmas item out for sale yet.

The guy who puts them on the site is on vacation until Wednesday, so the decorations will pop up on the site after he gets back.

I thought Halloween and Christmas were now celebrated in February? And now over? 😉

I think at some point it comes full circle. And this year's Halloween will be billed as next year's Halloween and so on.

Great, our sense of the present is getting lapped by next year's holidays. First cellphones and the internet made geography irrelevant. Now retail marketing is making time itself irrelevant.

Eventually they'll just roll all the holidays into one big sales event and come up with a goofy name for it.

Like for October, November and December, they could call it HalloThanksMas or something.
