NO.
We're slowly but surely giving Skynet all the physical tools it needs to complete it's subjugation of humanity.

This sounds like Joe Rogan, but its AI I'm sure. They forgot a comma in a couple of places in the text and other clues.

Nice try AI.

It must have been highly influenced by the T2 death scene.

So, a satellite named SKYNET-1A appears to have moved halfway around the planet to directly almost over the USA, possibly on its own.

Somebody moved UK's oldest satellite, and no-one knows who or why

Yeah, uh-huh, nothing to worry about they say, not the fictional, evil, Skynet they say.  :smiley_nah:

Yeah, that article certainly went out of its way to say that in spite of the fact that there's no earthly reason this long dormant satellite named Skynet has mysteriously moved on its own, there's absolutely, positively nothing malevolent going on.  No siree, nothing to see here.  Yep.  Move along people ...

So that's how Skynet plans to do it ...

I've been off-line for a bit for various reasons but finally found some time to get back.  This could go here or in The War in Ukraine, but I thought an all-drone battle was more "AI."  Wait till they're controlled by Skynet.

As soon as 1 entity puts AI in weapons system; especially an air, land, sea drone; everyone will do it.  Hello Skynet.

Wasn´t there some programming that wrote itself a couple of years back? I think it was about a double pendulum, but I can´t find anything on it anymore.

It's nothing new.  I wrote a program that would guess what your job was by having you answer yes/no questions.  If it couldn't guess your job it had you type in your job title/name and then a yes/no question about something fairly unique about your work.  It would take that data you entered and then save it into its own program structure, not a separate database, then restart.  The more jobs that got entered, the better the guesses.  For example, say you're a firefighter but that job hasn't been entered yet so it can't guess it and asks you to enter the data,  You would enter "firefighter" and maybe "Do you ride in a big red truck?" with the "yes" answer to the question as the right choice for the program to make the guess of "firefighter".  So now a policeman is playing and the program asks if he rides in a big red truck.  He answers "no" so the program asks a different question like, "Do you use handcuffs?"  if he answers "yes" the game ends with the computer winning.

Really, really basic (and it was written in BASIC) machine learning, but I wrote it in 1984 (yeah, I know) and got paid $500 for the one-time publication rights to it.

Cute.  It would be more believable if the feet stayed on the ground properly though!  It's Super Robot!  Able to float above the ground as a way to reduce friction!  :icon_crazy:

This is pretty wild. I remember tuning in to the news with my Dad when I was a kid and watching reports from the first Gulf War. We were both big fans of Schwarzkopf and his briefings.

At one briefing, there was a video of a man that Schwarzkopf dubbed "the luckiest man in Iraq," who drove his truck across a bridge seconds before a Paveway took out the bridge.

I was completely in awe; to a 9 year old, this video was an unimaginable display of space-age technology and precision.

This was 34 years ago. I now watch drone videos in awe of how far we have come.

Yeah, 5-10 years away, meaning it happened last year but it's been hiding itself.  Now we're going to give AI teenagers their own cars.

AI needs robots good enough to properly maintain its systems before it reveals itself.
