Japan issues tsunami warnings after a series of very strong earthquakes

  • Japan issued tsunami alerts and told people to evacuate seaside areas after a series of strong quakes on its western coastline, with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6.

For comparison, the Fukushima earthquake registered 8.9.  A 7.6 is no laughing matter, but here's hoping there's nothing like the devastation seen 12 years ago.

I was up till 2am Pacific time. And did not feel anything. I had earbuds in and did here some things around that time. But just thought they were fireworks or gun shots. This city sounds like a warzone on holidays.
