We discussed a cheap stainless survival knife some months ago. Within the last two years. It had a molded rubber handle, maybe a 5 inch blade and a black plastic sheath. There was a good youtube torture test video. It was like less than $25 iirc. 

It was not a mora, or gerber.

Anyone remember it? 

Was it the Camillus knife from Wal-Mart? Camillus Knife...

No. But there are good choices there. It was an off brand.

It sounds a little bit like the Cheaper Than Dirt (Hold your fire! I know, I know) Rough Use Knife, maybe? Except the blade on that is 8" and not 5". 

Back before CTD turned into a bunch of opportunistic weasels, I bought one from them for like $10. Despite the mall ninja looks, and the pretty abysmal sheath, that knife can take an unholy amount of abuse. I stand by my purchase. 

It's out of stock at CTD, but I'm sure it can be found elsewhere.
