I  hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

"Williams"

His portrayal of Robert Leuci probably should have earned him an Oscar. He was also a skilled pilot.

Cormac McCarthy, Pulitzer winning American author, dead at 89. This makes me so sad. His legacy lives on in an amazing body of work.

That's the guy who wrote "The Road" and "No Country for Old Men", right?

Yep. Bunch of other stuff too.

I just noticed that Blood Meridian is in the works for film. It is considered one of the greatest Western Novels ever written and his best work. Interesting tie-in is that Ben Nichols of Lucero did an entire album about the book with a biography on all the main characters. The titular song "Last Pale Light in the West" was selected by TWD as the Govenor's Theme early in the show. It is a rather poignant scene in the series. The whole album is great if you like that kind of music. I call that influential.

I knew his name and those two books (and the later movie adaptations), but that was about it.

In case you were wondering about his reputation, European satire sites are running articles about how Italian prostitutes are now on welfare, and brothels are closing left and right.
May contain traces of derp.

I find that hard to believe.  The US 6th Fleet is homeported in Naples after all.  :rolleyes1:

Billionaire James Crown. Died in a single car accident on a closed race track. He was on the board of JP Morgan Chase and General Dynamics.

It's been a tough month for billionaires, that makes five. Three in the sub and Berscaloni.

He was still performing, and was teaching at a local community college when he passed.

Can't really mourn a man who lived a long life doing things he loved till the end.

Osborne was also a Korean War Veteran and Purple Heart Honoree.

Here is a good (but lengthy) interview with him talking about his Korea Service and post Service life when he first went into the music business. He seems the nicest guy.

Darren Drozdov, better known to WWF fans as Droz, passed away June 30th, 2023. He was 54. No cause of death has been released.

Droz is probably moreso known for his career ending injury than he was for his actual career. He wrestled for the WWF from 1998 until 1999 when Droz suffered broken neck due to a botched move between himself and fellow wrestler D.Lo Brown.
