They actually formed an LAPD task force to try to deal with this. As there is an epidemic of this going on over the last couple years. 

Other times they steal a car and literally ram the victims car. And then rob them. Usually following them from a high end store. Or some other indication that they have valuables.

The only time I've ever been robbed at gunpoint was just outside Disneyland in Anaheim.

I had a few on board and actually contemplated blocking his gun aside, stepping in close whilst executing a crisp spin move followed by a sharp elbow strike to the face.

Then I returned to reality and realized I had maybe $40 in my wallet and could cancel my credit cards in minutes. Recognizing a good deal when I see one, I reached into my pocket and handed over my wallet like I had practiced that motion my entire life.

Wow. I never get notifications. It was nice that day. I guess. Lol. 

LA reminds me more and more of South Africa, including the corruption/incompetence of the police force.  I've seen similar videos in both places and sometimes I'm not sure where the video takes place until there is something that specifically identifies the location like a license plate.  That's probably all I should say about that, given the rules.

It's very much like that. If that part of town wanted to take over the entire city. They could. If a Katrina happened here the police would lose. They'd have to bring in the national guard. My town would survive. Only because its blocked by LAX and the Chevron refinery - north and south. But the LA Air Force base to the west. They wouldn't be able to progress any further east. But they would he able to defend their current location from anyone coming west towards us.

Not that I'm betting on that. It would be a mess. As the police are far outnumbered. 

I have nothing worth defending here. And would hopefully be mobile as soon as possible. Meaning vehicular or boat. But both are unlikely if a major event occurred. 

 

Still raining? Saw most of So Cal under flood advisories and warnings yesterday.  My sister got caught in that hailstorm bout week and half ago. ( In Torrance) .She said it was surreal  as   a mile away from where it was hailing. The sun was shining

Yes. It rained for two months straight. Then let up for a week or two. And then started again a few days ago. But when it started there were gail force winds for like 10 minutes. I was sitting on the back patio with my dogs. I thought the trees in back were gonna crack and fall over. We have a huge one in our back yard. Then it started raining really hard. And then hail the size of half a dime or bigger came down in a torrent. It was thick. And I don't remember it ever hailing here. Then three minutes later the clouds broke and it was sunny. It was - for lack of a better term - apocolyptic. Lol. It was really weird.
