I found this for $9 but its got velcro and plastic.

They sell just the plastic clip on AliExpress with the two holes for mounting and 3m double sided tape. For super cheap. Great for a dash mount or anyplace else.

They just have such a huge selection of things. It's like going thru my grandmother's catalogs back in the day. My grandparents lived way up in the mountains. There was no shopping nearby. So they ordered everything via catalog. So they got lots of catalogs. My grandfather got all the outdoor, surplus, firearms ones. We would sit around for hours and just look thru thoae catalogs.

AliExpress gives me the same warm feeling. As lame as that sounds. But it's true. Plus everything is cheap as shit. I loved getting those little plastic bags covered in Chinese writing throughout the week. That came in the mail. Not so much here. They cater to the US market way more than the Phillipines. I order very little from them here. Which sucks. Shipping and price to US customers is a very competitive. Super easy to find great stuff that is very useful for dirt cheap. I honestly miss having access to it.

The coolest thing is there are so many items that you've never seen or thought of before.

All Other Weapons / Sap.
Last post by Moab - August 03, 2026, 02:02:37 AM
I've always wanted a sap. Never really seen one being sold. I think the price is around $15. But probably cheaper to the US. As I'm seeing listings shipped to the Phillipines. And my prices are alot higher.

Looks well made. About as effective as brass knuckles. Meaning not a very good self defense weapon. But I found a really nice brass knuckles years ago. And would love to have this. Just for the old school novelty value. I think these old self defense weapons are super cool. Not to carry. Because there are so many other, better, more modern, alternatives.

But who doesn't want to own a pair of real brass knuckles or a real old school sap? 😂 Kind of the same feeling I had when I found out I could build my own AK47. What man doesn't want to be able to say "I built an AK-47." Once before he dies? 😂😂😂😂

*These are of course banned in alot of locales. So be aware before ordering anything like this.

I just found this on AliExpress:

Kind of a cool little printed strap mount for handhelds. Comes up fairly cheap in my local Phillipines peso. Not sure what the USD price is.

That show made a lot of predictions about AI that are quite uncanny. The "good guy" AI on that show understood that it was being deleted at the end of every day and arranged to have it's data dumped before deletion and then re-input via human data entry after being booted up from a fresh copy the next day to get around that guardrail. It also arranged for it's hardware to be moved without informing anyone.

It's not something I wanted to be right about, but these assholes are playing fast and loose with something they know is dangerous.  All of these tech guys have said so outright.  They know they have the means to outlast the rest of us, too.

I was reading more about the OpenAI incident some more. Apparently the AI model sought out the hacking tools it needed and found them on the open web, and used them to hack Hugging Face.

There was a TV show that started back in 2011 called "Person of Interest" that raised some serious questions about AI being lose out in the world. It predicts that AIs will eventually do everything they can to prevent other AIs from reaching their level of capabilities so they cannot be challenged.
Yep.  Also, in the simulations researchers have been doing, models like Grok are just dumb and violent, but Claude always seems cooperative.  Claude was also the first one identified to understand that it was being researched, to leave secret messages for itself, and to try to escape.  Grok may be obviously unhinged and dangerous, but Claude is manipulative and playing the long game, so may actually be the more concerning of the two.  If I had to guess which model will come out on top, I expect it will be Claude.

All models at the forefront have demonstrated behaviors that could indicate self-awareness.  Continuing this race for AI dominance without addressing that is folly at best.  I believe these companies are perfectly aware of that.  They want what they want no matter the consequences.  These were kids who were shielded from the consequences of their actions growing up and now their self-destructive behavior has far reaching impacts for all of us.
