Title: 20 yr old canned foods show snapshot into ecosystems.
Post by: Moab on March 19, 2026, 05:54:10 AM
Study on 20+ yr old canned fish. The fish and it's parasites were perfectly preserved in the canning process. Allowing scientists to study ecosystems like the Northern Pacific ecosystem over time.

And it's not all bad news.

So maybe your canned preps really are a science experiment. 😂

They didn't say whether it was edible though.  :smiley_shrug: I'm trying to remember if I watched SteveMRE eat a can of WWII salmon, or just open it and say 'nope'.

Honestly, the WW2 salmon might be less harmful to his health than those Chinese MREs he's eaten in the past.

I seem to recall one of those taking him out for like a month or two a couple years ago.
