Thanks for sharing this here; it is a good basic resource.

I am a big proponent of GMRS/FRS for those who want basic local communication when infrastructure is shaky or gone. If there is a local GMRS repeater that stays up, even better. This system was very handy for us when Milton took down cell and internet in SW Florida.

I keep a stack of them, laminated in 5 mil pouches, tucked into the admin setup I have on the front, passenger side of my Jeep, ready to hand out during offroading adventures to those new to GMRS radios.  The event organizers usually have extra GMRS units to hand out during such trail rides.
