Urban/Greyman pack set up.

This is the set up I basically run and have been preaching as a BOB strategy for decades.

Backpack - You have to carry all your crap. A backpack is essential. Make sure your rifle fits. Even my folding stock 16" AK fits in my backpack for when I don't want it visible. And yes, you need a rifle. Unless your just walking down to the FEMA center.

Chest pack - This one snaps onto the backpacks straps. Mine rides under it, independently, with an H harness and thin straps. In the event you need to ditch the backpack but keep the chestpack. The chestpack takes advantage of the open space between your backpack straps.

Fannypack - Takes advantage of the space around your waist. Unless your carrying a full gun belt. In which case you seem prepared for CQB. Which you should not be doing in a PAW or near PAW. The USGI Molle fannypack runs $7.50, is huge (15+ liters!) and can be found in multicam or dye an ACU one.

These three loadouts provide a modular system. That can both go greyman. And be broken down in teirs for ditching.

Your main pack carries your main supplies - shelter, clothing, food, some water, back up nav, first aid, tools, etc etc. the big stuff that won't fit elsewhere. And room for hiding your rifle in your main pack.

Chestpack - Pistol and quick access items (nav, ammo, knife, first aid etc). Can run your pistol externally or internally depending on how greyman you need. Between it and your fannypack - if you had to ditch your main pack - you've got enough to survive and feed your firearms.

Fannypack is packed like a full survival pack. Just in miniature. Basic and smaller versions of a pack - that by itself - could keep you alive. Poncho, hat, gloves, water treatment, first aid, food, nav, fire, cordiage, knife, etc etc.

This set up gives you the best combination of greyman customization and tactical segmenting for access and tactically ditching weight when necessary.

This one is a basic urban lightweight load out. But this can be built for any level of equipment you need. Concentrating on those three loudouts - main pack, chest pack and fanny pack.

Looks good. 

Were it me I would insert a iiia HDPE back plate in the pack and half size.one under the chest rig. For less than three pounds you gain what could be some important ballistic protection.

@Moab I like the modularity aspect. I'm pretty sure my SBR is 31" at is smallest. That's a big backpack. But OT is BOB so I guess you need a big backpack. I always think in terms of GBHB and my GBHBackpack is smaller, a 3 day. I might be able to fit an AR broken down in it.

Haven't really figured out the 'rifle' part of GBH, depending on the reason to GBH I'd either not have a rifle or open carry it. [definitely not greyman] But if you have an AR, you need mags, and therefore a mag carrier. Is that the backpack too?
