A new mobile theme

I'll be installing a new mobile theme today, one with some nice features and, supposedly, an auto-detection feature.  Please excuse any strangeness that may occur (beyond the usual stuff that is)

The mobile theme is installed and auto-enabled.  Let me know how it works.

Yes, but I'm not sure I understand where you're going with that question.

I asked because I figure some mobile users would want an option to turn it off if they didn't like it.

I'll monkey around with it and see what works and what doesn't and get back to you.

Ok, so I'm trying the new mobile theme and now I can't seem to swap back to the original desktop theme. The option just doesn't pop up in the little user tab.

Yeah, that seems to be a known issue that if you switch to the mobile theme from the desktop you can't switch back.


Admins and mods can edit your theme for you if this happens though.

Looks like I'm sticking with this theme since I know where everything is in this one.

ETA: Also, when you're using the mobile theme, the user profile displays weird. Like the text will be mixed in with the avatar if a user has one. Like there's a clash between the text and avatar in the user profile.

Tap the circle thingy on the upper right, select Profile, scroll to the bottom and select desktop view

Blame this on Google.  Sites that don't have an automatic mobile version rank lower with them.


And I guess I might as well put this out there, we're considering making a dedicated app for the site.

Oh thank god, I did not like the mobile version on my tablet at all. But I can see some advantages it would have for phones. I'm glad you included the mobile option.

Oh thank god, I did not like the mobile version on my tablet at all. But I can see some advantages it would have for phones. I'm glad you included the mobile option.

I'm playing around with it on another device. It could be interesting I just didn't like the way the threads were displayed. It was too.... Monotonous? Not sure, it was really hard to see how replies read. That was the biggest issue I had.

A dedicated app?!? Well, will wonders never cease!

Its not auto detecting my screen size on android. Im using a samsung note 20 ultra. The text is very small. Unreadable. Unless i zoom in.

You might be seeing the regular desktop theme; the mobile theme stopped working for me a few days ago, and at least the default desktop theme is very...er...odd about text sizes.

I have a hypothesis that in the desktop theme on at least Android Firefox and Chrome, posts from mobile are tiny where those from desktop are normal, but I haven't really sat down to test it.

Yeah, as I test other themes and try to get them working properly some weirdness is popping up.  I think I'm going to need to uninstall then reinstall that mobile theme.

Okay, I removed and reinstalled the mobile theme.  See how it works now.
