Ever (Zombiepreparation)

All things one likes to make into a tea.

Tea humor? I bet somebody's done that.

Growing 'traditional' teas for home use? Probably not?

Tea collectors... societies?

Being part of the Tea World, just a basic consumer, medicinal teaing.

(yep wordsmiths, I do know I'm verbing a noun. apologies if hurting your sensibilities. I understand. Myself, I get agonies over the misuse of "[he/she/it] and [I vs me]"/)

History bits regarding teas and/or teaing traditional -and- non traditional things.

Where to find whatever.
Storage.
Long-term storage?
Just any ole interesting, amusing, informative thing.

Like raisins. Was wondering how I'd like raisin sweetened tea and found a 10 year old YouTube by this charmer:

btw-My brain/body is addicted to sugar and it wrecks my systems so except honey and dried fruit I do my best to keep it out of the apartment. And was soaking raisins, cherries, dates to put in what I like to call 'Some Kind of Bread Product' I will be making later. And wondered about the liquid in the fruit that was getting darker and my cuppa tea.

My experience was: Pleasant flavor and I feel a different pleasantly growing alertness. This fruit sweetened tea seems to give my brain a feeling it's being fed, the caffine just doing it's drug job. Sugar and honey are satisfying but put me to sleep so are typically at odds with the caffine. This is different. Pleasantly so.

Computer, end Opening Post.

You might want to try some agave nectar as a sweetener that won't spike your blood sugar (in moderate amounts) and works well with beverages.  I use it now in my coffee and a little in my unsweetened iced tea that I live off of.

Iced tea is my beverage of choice and sweet tea in particular for the past 6-7 years. My last blood work though put my A1C as 8.3, so that ended my sweet tea.  Instead, I've been using Walkers unsweetened concentrate (caffeinated) that I mix a gallon and a quarter of and keep in my fridge in one of these. I dispense that into a 24 oz. steel travel thermos I keep on my desk and add a teaspoon of the nectar to just give it a hint of sweetness.

The thermos keeps it cold, even overnight, and keeps me hydrated.

Tea consentrate? Now that's a prepping positive if ever there was one. 👍 👍

I'd kinda heard of the agave nectar sweetener but you're the first I've talked to who used it.

Quite like your red 'tea cup' standing at the ready.

For cultivation camomile, peppermint, rosehip, verbena and Amacha (needs to be fermented). There are a lot of other herbal tees that grow quite well in gardens.
I've been experimenting with Franklinia this year, it's supposed to taste like regular tea and closely related to Camellia sinensis.
I collect lime blossoms, blueberries and strawberry/ blackberry leaves in addition.

I've been keeping my teas in traditional tins for years without problems.

@Ever (Zombiepreparation) I'd be interested in a recipe for that 'some kind of bread product'.

If I find another I'll send it to you.  They aren't all that expensive but the selection varies quite a bit from store to store.  I have a 20 ounce one in plaid too.
