I was going through my home library and stumbled across a shelf of old magazines (the ones made of paper) and informational brochures from the late 1970's and 1980's. It was fascination to see how things have changed. While the magazines are copyrighted and hence I am in the process of seeking approval to re-publish the articles here later I did find items not copyrighted that I can share now.

Future installments may include a 1982 test of a Glock 17 in Austria (since the Glock had not been imported in the US). A discussion of the test firing of a Model D BAR and other similar fun subjects.

This installment is for the first portable satellite phone I ran across IRL at a very remote work site. I saw this in use about 1986 and I swipped borrowed this informational spec sheet from the office. Compare this to either an Iridium or a Globalstar sat phone of the day. The price while not on here was around $25,000 in 1984 USD ~ $60,000 today.
Folks you are on your own...Plan and act accordingly!

I will never claim to have all the answers. Depending upon the subject; I am also aware that I may not have all the questions much less the answers. As a result I am always willing to listen to others and work with them to arrive at the right answers to the applicable questions.
