Scary stuff.
Outdoor bazaars, farmer's markets, etc. are in full swing in my AO, and it's alarming how tuned-out both pedestrians and drivers can be, especially in large groups and slow speeds.
Luckily there are a ton of outdoor eating areas on the sidewalks here, complete with concrete jersey barriers. I try to keep within a few strides of one whenever I'm on the street.

One of the articles I read as I was gathering info for my active killers document mentioned organizations calling on people to do car and truck attacks because cars were more readily available than firearms.
