I bought two of these...they are a two pack so two orders equal 4 lanterns. They $7.54 for the pair.

For that you a decent 360 COB light that runs off either 3x AA batteries (rechargeable or alkaline) or 1 - 18650 battery. It includes an 18650 battery (2500 MaH button top) for each lantern. The light also has a flashing red light (which IMO is useless) and a beam light at the top which IMO is useful but not very. The COB light is about equal in brightness to 25 watt to 40 watt incandescent bulb; enough to light a 15x15 room nicely if mounted high enough.
It has a hook at the bottom to hang it upside down which does produce better light distribution and magnets on the base as well as the other hangers.
BTW this lantern can be used to recharge 18650 batteries and also be back fed for light though a USB battery bank for even longer run times. So insteadof buying an 18650 battery charger you can buy this, use it as charger and have a lantern to boot.
In short you get 2 useful area lights 2 18650 batteries & a built in 18650 charger all for $3.77 each.

Area lighting in the form of led lanterns is a chronically undervalued disaster prep, IMHO. High output tactical flashlights seem to get most of the attention in the prepping community. While they have undeniable value as task lighting and for SAR, hour by hour, day by day, the simple ability to illuminate interior spaces as you ride out an emergency is likely to be your most pressing lighting need.

Agreed! Flash lights get attention, a lot of attention. However, an area with 360 degree light is most useful in a building.
Longterm area lighting with minimal power needs is IMO a crucial power outage need. If for no other reason so you can turn off your tactical light to conserve it battery.
These are great lights. I found one about 2 weeks ago that had been left behind by a homeless person in one of our locomotives. It's a very bright light when light inside an enclosed area...
