Title: You will be held accountable
Post by: NT2C on October 07, 2021, 10:49:45 AM
Something to bear in mind as you prep for the many possible disasters that might befall you is that no matter how long it takes, you will usually have to justify your actions.  Possibly in a court of law.

A 100-year-old former Nazi guard has gone on trial, facing charges for 3,518 deaths (https://www.npr.org/2021/10/07/1043971890/100-year-old-nazi-guard-on-trial-germany)

Raptor posted a relly good thread about  Hurricane Katrina on the old ZS (I'm  not sure if he has copied it here)
Where he went into Accountability quite a bit, with examples..
(The moral/lesson being that you should assume that what you do will become known, and that "The Rule of Law" will eventually be restored...)

I forget who the author was, but I recall an article a few years back about accountability during and after a disaster.

It was in a gun magazine (the reading kind, not the holds bullets kind) and I remember the author saying something about how the world wouldn't stay like a "Mad Max" movie forever and you'd have to answer for anything you had to do to defend yourself if need be afterwards.

I really wish I could remember exactly who wrote the article and what advice it contained because it did bring up a lot of good points.

ETA: I think it may have been written by Clint Smith or possibly Craig Boddington, but I'm not 100 percent sure.
