This is where I've lived the last 25 years. In the Phillipines now. But my son still lives there. Everyone's fine tho. Apparently you could hear and see the explosion across LA.
I expect gas prices will go up. If a polar bear farts near the Alaska Pipeline gas prices go up.
I have suspicions about the cause of the fire, but I'mma keep it to myself for now.
My friend lives just south of there and he sent me pics just after it happened, but no context. I thought we had been attacked. Given the current state of things, I don't consider that a moment of paranoia.

How do you think I felt living there for 30 years? El Segundo is the command center for that entire half of Los Angeles. It is surrounded by LAX, the City of Los Angeles Water Treatment facility, the Los Angeles Air Force base, and the Chevron Oil refinery. The largest oil refinery on the west coast. Huge oil tankers And almost all of the largest aerospace/military contractors in the world - Boing, Raytheon, and several others.
To think it isn't a target is to lie to oneself. Lol.
I have a map of the sewers leading out of the city. That's how badly I felt about living there. And my high expectations for it being a target of something I probably wouldn't survive in the first place.
