Post by: Rednex on November 07, 2024, 05:38:28 AM
Ok so I have been wanting dash cams  for both vehicles.I have gotten lost in the sauce on which ones good which one has front and back cams, which has nice clear video. I know 1 or 2 of yall have them so what do ya got and how easy is it to use? I would like to get the same camera on both , and have both front and rear cameras.

Vehicle 1  08 chevy silverado reg cab short bed, sometimes hauling a trailer.
Vehicle 2 11 nissan xterra.

I bought mine (https://a.co/d/irMs8pv) 8 years ago, so it doesn't really compare to newer units.  I've started thinking about replacing it (and adding one to my truck), but haven't spent a ton of time researching them recently.  What I had flagged as a possibility was the Rove R2-4k (https://a.co/d/33ZnxDd), but I'd need to do a lot more research before I would buy a new one.

Are the dash cam review websites / YouTube channels still around?  When I bought mine there were a number of them out there that would go over all the options, show video clips of the same route under the same weather / light conditions, and then make recommendations.

I researched these alot. And got this one for my birthday a couple months ago. Read the reviews. Alot of these are hard to use and have no customer service. By all accounts this one is very high quality, not super expensive, and has excellent customer service.

Limited-time deal: REDTIGER Dash Cam Front Rear, 4K/2.5K Full HD Dash Camera for Cars, Included 32GB Card, Built-in Wi-Fi GPS, 3.16" IPS Screen, Night Vision, 170°Wide Angle, WDR, 24H Parking Mode(F7NP) https://a.co/d/7wkcOFi

You may want to get these accessories. One is a cord to hook it to your fuse box. That way it stays on without killing battery. And an adhesive can mount. I guess the suction cup doesn't stay up in high heat.

I'm enjoying my Vantrue N4 Pro but we're putting a Fitcamx on the wife's 2024 Pilot.  I'll let you know how it goes with it.

Just install daily roads app and use a phone mount. It will run in the background while you use your uber,/Lyft app or GPS whatever.
