There was quite the discussion over on the Zed. Two camps - "OH HORROR" NOT TYPE ACCEPTED/APPROVED (CLUTCHES PEARLS)
and the other camp - wooowee, cool tech, look at what I can make it do! (proceeds to do lots of odd modes etc. ie Hack the device.
BTW - ARS rigs are not nor ever have been "Type accepted/Type approved". It is up to the licensee to meet the technical rules.
Sadly, most ham ops have no knowledge or calibrated test equipment to 'meet the technical rules'.
