Title: UK MOD Hacked by China
Post by: Uomo Senza Nome on May 13, 2024, 10:22:59 AM
QuoteThe hack targeted a payroll system used by the Ministry of Defence, which includes names and bank details of both current and some past armed forces members.
In a very small number of cases, the data may include personal addresses.

QuoteThe IT company targeted in a Chinese hack that accessed the data of hundreds of thousands of Ministry of Defence (https://www.theguardian.com/uk/ministry-of-defence) staff failed to report the breach for months, the Guardian can reveal.

QuoteThe Chinese embassy has said China was not responsible for the hack. A spokesperson said: "We urge the relevant parties in the UK to stop spreading false information, stop fabricating so-called China threat narratives, and stop their anti-China political farce."
Not sure who would believe them. They have hacked or tried to hack every defense department on Earth at this point in time, including the successful hack of the US OPMS, that grants security clearances and is loaded with personal data.

For our UK members who served, I feel ya.

I am not seeing the bits quoted in the link. Was a second link supposed to be in this post?
