Just got the call from the Red Cross, the emergency shelter at which I volunteer is been activated due to the flooding north of Houston. It's predicted to be a pretty serious situation. Anyone in the affected area? if you end up at the shelter in the Woodlands, TX look for me - I'm easy to spot, just look for the Mohawk.
Stay safe!

It took hours for my SO to catch a flight but she is on the way home from Hobby. They has quite a backlog but she is on her way home now.

Just a heads up, this flooding is still a problem and the emergency shelter I'm at is still open. We currently have around 15 clients which isn't too bad compared to past events. However, me and the other volunteers as getting burned out. We have around 120 volunteers on our roster, but we've barely been able to get more than four to show up for any shift. I'm heading now for my fourth overnighter in a row. Frustrated.

Hang in there, Blast.
I lived in Beaumont for awhile and the flooding in that area can be unreal! It hits hard and fast and hangs on longer than it seems reasonable.
