QuoteRadars tracking activity in "deep space" will help the UK protect itself from "space warfare", the defence secretary has said.
It marks a "new phase" of a security arrangement between the UK, US and Australia by 2030 - known as AUKUS.
The Ministry of Defence said radars will enable nations to identify objects in deep space, up to 22,000 miles (36,000 km) away from earth.

22k miles just happens to be geosynchronous orbit (I had to look it up, I thought it wasn't that high).

I'm going to posit that the demarcation line for the beginning of deep space should be the halfway distance to the nearest star other than Sol.
So that's about 2 light years. 4 years for a radar ping to get there and back.

Yeah, should be where there is absolutely no gravity effect from SOL. But I'm ok with beyond the effect of SOL's solar winds, technically.

Nah, in nautical reference that's like the 12 mile offshore limit. We're looking for the space equivalent of the 200 mile economic exclusion zone.

I think once you hit the interstellar medium you are in outer space, and past the Oort cloud should be considered deep space, as it has objects in it that are almost 1 1/2 light years from the sun. Inside the heliopause should be considered inner space. IMHO anyway.

Halfway to Proxima Centauri ? That's about 40,000 years to get there using current space vehicles.
The spherical Oort Cloud, is in orbit around SOL, and most of it is beyond the Kuiper Belt. So SOL's gravitational influence is out beyond 200,000 AU
The 'equal gravity' point would be calculated by obtaining the total mass of both solar systems, and the distance. And would only be at a point halfway if both systems total mass was equal. Otherwise It would be closer to the smaller massed system. :panic:
