Title: Cowboy Coffee
Post by: MacWa77ace on September 15, 2023, 11:23:40 AM

This is a cool way to make coffee. You can probably extrapolate into using any type of container for the PAW.

So now I know what Corbin meant by making a fresh pot every week, even if there's some left over.

I have not seen the vids yet. But one thing that helped my french press a great deal. (And a french press is just a pot of boiling water with coffee grounds in it that simply pushes the grounds to the bottom.) Is to add about 8 ounces if cold water after it has brewed.

This sends a big percentage of the grounds to the bottom. Otherwise they float. Making it easier to strain, pour straight from the pot or in my case push the grounds down with the french press filter.

I learned this from a video made by one of the guys that won Alone. Clay somebody. It works really well. He adds the cold water. Gives it a minute. And then pours straight from the pot.

@Moab Cowboy Coffee is exactly that, boiling water with the grounds, and pour 'just a little' cold water around the top to 'settle' the grounds on the bottom after 'cooking' to taste. He calls it the coffee's 'stoutness'.
