Here's hoping for a subdued hurricane season where any major storms spin themselves out without making landfall.

Or at least give Puerto Rico a year off.

The last 12 months have already been pretty strange for weather. Snow in Southern California, plus a practically endless monsoon season. Canada hardly got any rain and is in a drought. 

California was talking mudslides earlier in the year, But strangely it appears as though the state is doing a good job in regulating the water from snowpack runoff. Several reservoirs that were very low are now at peak capacity.

Locally, the average rainfall here in the month of June and is about one inch and so far we've had well over a foot.

What this means for Atlantic hurricane season is anybody's guess.
