I had the same issue on a post I made, but if you open it up to edit, everything looks normal. Seems to be an issue with the hyperlink to an offsite location. I think the board is automatically doing a preview maybe???

Even removing the excess stuff and directing away from smile.amazon, doesn't work. E.g.

The issue is that we use a modification to the basic system called the Auto Media Mod. What it's supposed to do is look for "media" links (there's a list of about 40 types) in posts and then actually retrieve material from the site. For example, putting up the actual YouTube video instead of a link. With Amazon links it's supposed to be showing a little Amazon blurb about the product, including the picture. Instead, it obscures the link and posts a dead Amazon image link. I've contacted the author of the mod (we paid $15 for it) and after trying to troubleshoot the issue the best he can come up with is that it's an issue in how our server is trying to retrieve the material from Amazon. Since we're currently on a shared server and not the VPS that I used to have, I cannot control that bit of (mis)communication. Best I can do is either turn the mod off for Amazon links, or set it to put a text link below. For now I've turned it off.
Oh, the mod creator offered us a full refund which I declined since it's a problem with our server, not their software.

I'm on the mobile version most of the time because it displays to fit the Kindle screen size and I can reply. I do switch to the desktop verson now and again for more detailed things the ability to like something.
In desktop for me the thumbs up/thumbs icons are kinda shadowy. But when I click on their location box they pop right up.

Save a list of topics/threads in our user profile to quickly access or view at a later date for reference. I used this feature extensively on the old forum.
I bookmarked a bunch of old threads to my PC before the old one went belly up thinking I could still reference them... and that has been an exercise in futility so far.
I believe there was even a "subscribe" option on the old site that you could/would get notifications of new posts in topics if you checked that box. You could unsubscribe later if you no longer wished to participate in the topic.
You can do that here already.

I have a bit of problem using my mobile phone and the thumbs up/down function. I think a couple of times I have intended to give a thumbs up and hit the down by mistake. Is there any way to rescind incorrect taps?

Am trying to upload a pic here. My Kindle shows it uploaded. The attachment function here showed it was uploaded. But I couldn't see the pic in the preview of the post.

The odd part is that I'm an approved Wikipedia editor.
I've had the urge to sign up to edit Wikipedia pages, but part of me says "You've got too many accounts to places online already, doofus."

Just so as not to drive you crazy, there are tricks to getting non-standard and "not open to the general public" ones. There are several that are in the standard list but not displayed in it, you have to know the "code" to use them. There are also ways of bringing in ones from elsewhere.

Book keeping? I can make a simple Excel sheet for tracking who/numbers assigned etc. Let me know how I can help or when we could discuss further... Once the dust settles and we get to that point anyway.

There should be a little tab on the right side of whatever page you're on that says "User Actions". Click on that and it'll bring up a small menu that has the option to start a new topic.
If that doesn't work, I'll ask NT2C and see what's going on.

I recently discovered this board and really appreciate your efforts. I really like the feel and the vibe of this community. In setting up my account I embarrassingly misspelled the username that I wanted. It should have been Invictus not Invictis. So I am wondering if you could change the name to Invictus or alternately delete the account so I could register again with the correct name? thanks

It shouldn't be too hard to just change the spelling of your name instead of going through the whole re-registering deal.

Hello everyone. My original Invictis/Invictus account became unusable. Once the Admin changed the Username to Invictus, the account wanted me to log in again. I found that my previous password did not work. When I tried to log in with no success, the board provided me a link to click on to have my password reset, but it never sent me an email to reset it my password despite clicking on it numerous times. So I had to set up an account with a different name from a different email address.
I want to make it clear that I am not trying to set up multiple accounts, but that my previous one no longer works.
I think I will keep this one exactly as it is and avoid any problems. Thanks everyone and I am very glad to be here.

Did you check your spam folder ?
I sometimes get emails from places like CDNN Sports or Geissele and my email will put them in the spam folder.
Oh yes, I checked the spam folder and the trash folder and there was nothing there.

If this one is connected to a different email than the original Invictus account, I don't think it'll be affected if the old account is deleted.
I'm also not the most intelligent person when it comes to how the forum software works, so take that for what it's worth.

Looking at our mail server logs, the emails do seem to have been sent. Not sure why you didn't get them. I found out that the system auto-deletes your previous PW when the account name is changed and emails you a new one. The logs show that went out. :smiley_shrug:

The previous account has been deleted. I would suggest that maybe if we try to get rid of that "2" in the future that we setup a default PW that I can enter for you, or that you send an email to admin@ufozs.com and we can then work to get you back online.
