Title: Zombie Squad is gone from Internet Archive?
Post by: Moab on March 26, 2023, 01:34:02 PM
I just went to look something up. It appears to not have any data anymore.

Am I wrong?

If I remember correctly, there's been some issues (issues as in lawsuits) with the founders of the Internet Archive and certain companies copyrights.

The disappearance of ZS from the Internet Archive may be because of that.

ETA: That or someone at ZSHQ may have nuked the site from the server. That's probably a more likely scenario.

This just adds insult to injury. This is really upsetting. I can't describe how much this hurts.

I hear you, Moab. This royally sucks.

All that great info and posts made by folks no longer with us, gone just like that.

ETA: I just checked the Wikipedia page for ZS and someone edited it to include a link to the UFoZS forums. :smiley_clap:

Gee, I wonder what former ZS admin and current Wikipedia editor could have done that?   :smiley_shrug:  :greenguy:

Much like the mystery of how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, we may never know who was behind this. :shades:  :awesome:

ETA: I was going to say it wasn't me, but that's mostly because I don't have editing access on Wikipedia.

Sorry I just copied and pasted myself. Yeah looks like the BB Code doesn't understand what to do with the second // in the hyperlink. That link is 2016. It looked like there are some for each year; you get to choose.

So happy. Thank you. At some point we have to spend some time copying and reposting at least the stickies.

I did just copy, edit and repost stercutus' excellent post on defending a BOL.
