Turkey is about to start it's early warning system at the end of this month.
45 seconds is a long time. It's an area with a lot of historical buildings, I'm afraid the death toll is going to be high.

Southern Anatolia is also where a lot of minorities live. The governments response regarding rebuilding could be interesting, especially in kurdish areas.

Death toll is already well over 100 between them and Syria.

Death toll now 2,000 and climbing. Turkey has formally requested assistance from NATO.  As well as from other countries.

What a tragedy. The 72-hr golden window of rescuing survivors trapped beneath the rubble is rapidly drawing to a close. There are remote communities in Syria especially that have yet to receive any assistance at all. They're sifting through the rubble with their bare hands.
