I'll be installing a new mobile theme today, one with some nice features and, supposedly, an auto-detection feature. Please excuse any strangeness that may occur (beyond the usual stuff that is)

I asked because I figure some mobile users would want an option to turn it off if they didn't like it.
I'll monkey around with it and see what works and what doesn't and get back to you.
Ok, so I'm trying the new mobile theme and now I can't seem to swap back to the original desktop theme. The option just doesn't pop up in the little user tab.

Yeah, that seems to be a known issue that if you switch to the mobile theme from the desktop you can't switch back.
Admins and mods can edit your theme for you if this happens though. :smiley_bril:

Looks like I'm sticking with this theme since I know where everything is in this one.
ETA: Also, when you're using the mobile theme, the user profile displays weird. Like the text will be mixed in with the avatar if a user has one. Like there's a clash between the text and avatar in the user profile.
Anyway to get this new mobile theme disabled for me? Not really a fan of it. I can't even figure out how to get into my profile with it. Haaaaaalp

Tap the circle thingy on the upper right, select Profile, scroll to the bottom and select desktop view

Blame this on Google. Sites that don't have an automatic mobile version rank lower with them.
And I guess I might as well put this out there, we're considering making a dedicated app for the site. :smiley_yeah:

Oh thank god, I did not like the mobile version on my tablet at all. But I can see some advantages it would have for phones. I'm glad you included the mobile option.
I'm playing around with it on another device. It could be interesting I just didn't like the way the threads were displayed. It was too.... Monotonous? Not sure, it was really hard to see how replies read. That was the biggest issue I had.
A dedicated app?!? Well, will wonders never cease!
It's working great for my Kindle. Much easier for me to read. Thanks ever so much for providing it.
Its not auto detecting my screen size on android. Im using a samsung note 20 ultra. The text is very small. Unreadable. Unless i zoom in.

You might be seeing the regular desktop theme; the mobile theme stopped working for me a few days ago, and at least the default desktop theme is very...er...
odd about text sizes.
I have a hypothesis that in the desktop theme on at least Android Firefox and Chrome, posts from mobile are tiny where those from desktop are normal, but I haven't really sat down to test it.
Yeah, as I test other themes and try to get them working properly some weirdness is popping up. I think I'm going to need to uninstall then reinstall that mobile theme.

The mobile theme opens a section that sticks to the edge of my screen om both sides. Which is great. But the text is very small. Unreadable. Maybe opt for larger text and fewer threads shown per page?
Once you open a thread the text is near perfect size.
I am having to readjust my screen size when posting. Its a bit big. The font. And forces me to make the screen smaller to fix tjat and fit the width of my phones screen.
Can we post pics directly to the forum? Or is external hosting only?
Also is there going to be an active threads page?

I think there's an intent to host pics locally, but right now it's external. I could be wrong, though, and have been unnecessarily posting pics to Imgur.

Not sure about the mobile theme (since it stopped working on my phone some time ago), but on the desktop theme there's a "Show unread posts since your last visit" link right under "Hello $username".

The mobile theme has been problematic since day one. I'm holding off doing anything with it because I expect a new version to be released soon. For now, I use the regular desktop theme on my phone and pinch expand as needed. It's a PITA but it works.
Images can be attached as files or directly uploaded with the "insert image" doodad button thingy.
(don't judge, I'm half asleep and it's the half with the brain)

is an actual mobile theme installed and working. But it doesn't work for everyone. You, it seems to like. Me, not so much.

What seems to be happening for you is that your browser is getting the wrong size value after a reply. It sounds like the browser is getting the standard page CSS rather than the mobile CSS, but there's no way for me to be certain unless I can reproduce it on my end. One thing you might try is to disable any ad blocker you may be running and see if that changes things.

It's in your profile settings under "Notifications". I turned it on for you.
I can't locate the mobile format anymore. What do I click to get it back?

That's common of the default theme. Hopefully, it will be fixed in a future update.

I just flipped the theme to a different color scheme. Did it change on your screen?
In chrome i can switch to desktop on and off. See attached. In mobile the screen to reply gets to big. And you have to pinch the screen size down. Also see attached. No color change.
The first pic didnt work. The menu showing desktop on and off disappeared in the screenshot. Sorry.
That is the default desktop theme and does not fully support a mobile mode. You have to choose the actual mobile theme in your profile settings on this system. I just did this for you.

Im on chrome for android and its working.
I have been using the mobile theme for a few days now. Just a couple notes. You cant add more than one image at a time. You have to save and modify each time to add another image. This is within the limit of 4. Second is the message center is a mess. Its usable. Just all over the place. Thank you all for your hard work. The mobile theme is working very well om android. Samsung galaxy s20 note ultra.
