I haven't been on HF all weekend due to family obligations.  Some folks on the local repeater said the bands were wiped out today without a single signal on 20 meters.  (14.150-14.350 MHz.)

Now that the decline of the geomagnetic field is well documented, the posted YT video of auroral propagation, may become more common than not.

So, the bands of choice for post Fall radio communication may well fall into the 2m, 2M and even UHF.
A multi-mode (SSB/FM/CW will give more chances to attempt communications.
