I got this a couple years or so ago as a present. At first it seemed like a gimmick light, but it's actually pretty cool.
My understanding is, though, Nebo isn't really known for longevity. Bummer. The fitup seems nice, little or no wobble in any of the parts.
At first glance it looks like a normal, albeit camoflauged, light. There's a nicely clicky button to run the light: press for light, press twice for a programmable preset mode, press and hold to slowly cycle the light level, press twice and hold to cycle through and "set" the level at which you release.
It takes a single 18650 cell, which is where the first indication that something odd's going on becomes evident: there's two tail caps. The outer cap has a (pretty strong) magnet, but doesn't serve any other purpose. The inner cap is the one that actually makes contact.
The emitter is a decently, but not spectacularly, bight LED. It's white and pretty crisp.
The surprise is that--as the name implies--it's got a slide. Slyde. Whatever. You pull the shank of the body down, and there's a COB area light. With that slid out, the button cycles between white, red, and red flashing. A nice slow flash, not the rave-like flicker you sometimes see. You can also hold it to adjust the brightness of the COB; I think you can program it (like the forward emitter), but I've never figured out how.
It's like $40, but on the whole I've found it a great light; enough so that for me a focused emitter + area COB with magnet is kind of a killer feature set. I've stuck the thing in the hood of my truck, to the side of it, under sinks, and all sorts of places to use the COB.
This has become my go-to large light, though I think if this light craps out I'll avoid the slidey bit.
