So, I was out doing some grocery shopping yesterday, and the price of eggs is ridiculous. It made me ask the question if the price of eggs is higher or lower in other parts of the country.

In my hometown, Walmart wants 8.92 per 16-count of eggs, and 6.92 per dozen
Food City/Food Lion wants 10.99, and 8.99 per dozen
Save-a-Lot wants 8.99. Didn't get the price per dozen.
IGA wants 9.99, Same as Save-a-Lot per dozen.

At this rate people will have to dye rocks for Easter.

What's the price in your AO?

I checked last night when I was shopping (I don't need any right now, so it was just out of curiosity) and they were $5 per dozen at the Meijer store in Livonia, MI.

At the IGA where I work, our eggs run from 3.99 a dozen  for regular white store brand to 16.00 for an 18 pack of organic brown eggs.

$5.99/ dozen, locally. There's a limit of 2 dozen per person.

Cheapest dozen I found around here is $5.97.

When I was a kid, ground beef was the cheap meat and the bulk of our recipes included it.  Now, the cheapest I can find is $5/lb.  Too rich for my blood.  You can still find some versions of chicken cheap, but boneless breasts are $4/lb.  I am seriously thinking about trying rabbits as livestock again.
