Okay, the best way to describe this beast is...

Totally frigging amazeballs!

Yes, my Sofirin Q8 Plus is brighter.  It's also heavier and bulkier.  This sweet little fugger fits in a belt pouch like a multi-tool! It even came with a sweet little woven paracord lanyard.

Compared to the aforementioned Sofirn Q8 Plus, it's about the same height but considerably thinner.

Getting beamshots of this one proved rather difficult.  As nice as this one fits the hand it's still quite a handful, and trying to manipulate the button left-handed while using the right to hold the phone was... stressful.  These were taken in my garage with no other light source and the exposure on my phone camera locked to f1.8 1/125s and 6400 ISO:

Low (400lm)

Med (1,000lm)

High (2,600lm)

Turbo (12,000lm)

I thought I'd taken one in Eco mode but I must have screwed up and missed it.

Outdoors was a different story.  This was done at 0330 in the morning and with me trying not to shine it in any windows,  The light was held vertically so the beam would not spread much to the sides, otherwise I'd be flooding bedroom windows on both sides.

Low (400lm) barely visible on the shed)

Med (1,000lm)

High (2,600lm)

Turbo (12,000lm but it may have started throttling back)

The distance to the shed is about 191' (~58.2m).  Remarkably, even with the light on turbo for a pretty long time getting that last shot it barely warmed up and the fans never kicked on, or if they did I never felt them.

And yes, I know how crappy these pics are.  I'll try to take better ones from my deck over the weekend.

Recharging the little monster was about as easy as it gets, using the USB C connection on the side and plugging in to one of the high-wattage ports on my desk soon had a steady 24w of power topping off the barely used batteries.  The unit can fully recharge from 0 to 100% in just two hours.
