Hey y'all

So i have been starting to do a little leather making and was on Tandy Leather. They have kits to make your our survival bases stuff. A fire kit, includes striker, tin, leather pouch kit. Knife sheaths, pack packs, belt pouch kits, walking stick covers, compass pouch, all kinda stuff. When things get situated i think i will order some of the smaller ones and see how they go.

Heres a few links

Put a line between the links. They aren't working so close together.

The links are working for me.  I do like making things, so I might have to try that Fire Starter kit.  The Explorer Belt Bag kit looks super cool, but I don't think I'd ever actually use it.

I fixed the links after i saw Moab's post. The fire kit, compass pouch, maybe a walking/hiking stick wrap is as far as i would go. The rest isn't all that useful for the price.

They have other stuff that some may figure for prepping or EDC needs. It's the idea of some of the stuff though, like if i take this and make it myself but add this to it, it will work for my EDC kit better then what i have. Anything you make can be much more tailored to your specific needs/style.

Like the fire kit, say you added a piece of leather to the flap and made a credit card slot to hold a magnifying lens. More ways to start a fire. Or a Bic holder on the outside of it.

Or the compass pouch you can add a strip of leather  for a sling clasp. Hang a Photon Micro-Light off the clasp, now you got light to see the compass in the dark.

This warms my heart actually. Reminds me of Radio Shack. They use to stock all the Tandy stuff.

I loved RS. No matter how much of a loser you were in school. The one place in the mall that always welcomed you. And didn't make you feel like a poor kid from the wrong part of town was Radio Shack. :)

I'm not sure I like having part of the fire starting kit outside the pouch...

The computer board we built in electronics class used a normally open switch as a reset.  I was working on a lab assignment for a different class when I heard:

"Go ask Radio Shack if he has a normally open switch you can trade..."

It seems the guy had used a nomally closed switch and had to hold it down for his board to work.  Yes, I had one to trade.

I kept waiting for the Cheers theme song to start when I walked in the store.

And they're always glad you came..."

Weird admission:

When I moved from Seattle to LA. I drove my Suzuki Samarai. I owned a sleeping bag and a cooler. Lol. On the way down highway 1, I stopped at every Radio Shack and wrote about each one. I interviewed every sales person that helped me. And took their picture. And created a Radio Shack journal of my journey. I still have it somewhere.

That's how weird I am. And how much I loved Radio Shack.

It killed when they turned it into a cellphone kiosk. And it eventually died.

Long live Radio Shack. And the adrenaline enucing red tags. Remember those? I bought a scanner antenna for .32 cents one time. Loved that place.
