For me, it was a thousand rounds of 9mm that none of my pistols like.

BPR I think?  Now I have to dig the can out of the bottom of the pile and look.  Very hard primers in this lot and I'm getting some that won't go off at all regardless of restrikes.

I wonder if that stuff will work in my PC9. :smiley_chinrub:

ETA: Did a little research on the BPS ammo and apparently hard primers and light primer strikes seems to be a common issue folks have with it.

Solution seems to be using a heavier firing pin spring.

Already did the springs on my Taurus (which hates the stuff the most) and it really did not make the slightest difference.  I'll bring it with me when I come down.

Well, there goes my idea then.

I honestly can't find a whole lot on this ammo aside from folks saying the primers are pretty hard.

Canning lids.  Ever since the run on canning stuff at the start of the pandemic, the lids have not been the same.  They're all junk, even the name-brand ones we've trusted for years.

So, I've been trying reusable canning lids from a company called Tattler.  They have a bit of a learning curve and I'm getting frustrated with them not working quite as I had hoped.  Still trying to get it figured, though.  Maybe I'll get it someday and they'll be my preference.  Here's hoping.

The only other option I know of is a European brand of glass lids, but they can't be used on regular mason jars and I'd have to start from scratch buying their jars and lids.  Plus, water bath canning is far more common in Europe than pressure canning, so I'm not even certain their jars are made for pressure canning at all.

My PCC will shoot it but I get at least one stoppage per 33rd mag.  May SAR B6P and my IWI Masada do a little better with about one stoppage per 50-round box. The B6P is SA/DA so easy restrike and is a CZ75 clone made in Turkey and is an issue pistol for military and police there. The Taurus is a weird striker-fired pistol with restrike capability.  I think it's that weird DA on the Taurus that makes for a lighter strike.  The Masada is/was military and police issue in Israel and will function on damned near any 9mm ammo but even it had issues.

I've got zero experience with Taurus guns aside from a 1911 a friend of mine had years ago.

But the restrike DA (or whatever Taurus calls it) might be part of the issue with the BPS ammo.

Kind of reminds me of Tula ammo and 7.62x39 chambered ARs. Most AKs will eat that stuff all day long with no problems, but for some reason 7.62x39 ARs choke on it.

At least until folks upgrade the firing pin and spring on them and then they're good to go. Wouldn't really know since my only AR is chambered in 5.56.

I heard one time that BPS ammo need an open bolt style weapon. I think its made for go fast stuff that is being hit with a heavy bolt slamming forward.

I wonder if a Ruger PC carbine would have enough force behind the bolt to set off BPS 9mm reliably.

I might try that whenever the temperature in my AO approaches something not akin to the surface of the sun. :gonk:

It cycled well enough in mine.  It was the Taurus that really didn't like it.

Once the temperature cools off a bit in my AO, I'll see how mine likes it.

If nothing else, it'll give me an excuse to go to the range. Not that I need one, I'm just happy to get one. :smiley_clap:
