Been meaning to show everyone that watch I was talking about buying a month ago. The Baltany "Dirty Dozen" military homage. I got it because it bears an uncanny resemblance to the watch that Joel (Pedro Pascal's character) wears in the HBO TV series The Last of Us (in the story, it's a gift given to him by his murdered daughter, Sarah).

I added the olive green NATO strap to complete the look from the TV series. Beyond the pop culture connection, it's a well-built watch: stainless steel case, screw-down crown w/100 meter water resistance, sapphire crystal and a Seiko quartz movement, so it should be very reliable. And the all important sub seconds hand. :smiley_knipoog:

My CZ Smart is on its way to the Citizen repair facility in Torrence, CA, evidently the only authorized (and supposedly qualified) repair facility for those watches. :panic:

I'm so glad someone noticed that! It's actually a Sig SP2022 but impossible to tell being out of focus. Glock was a safer guess. And in case anyone doesn't understand the Chef Boyardee connection ...

I don't watch TV or movies, so that's not why I noticed the Beefaroni. I noticed because I just got a fresh case of the stuff. :awesome:

That is really nice watch. I'm still planning in getting the seiko style divewatch from steeldive. I hope it end up looking as nice as yours. Im really impressed. Nice backdrop too! You're the man! That is very cool.:)

So my first watch thread post. It's about time.....
I don't wear a watch that often, mostly while hunting, but wanted to start wearing one more often. I used to alot but the metal bands hurt lol, and the rubber bands make me itch. So the first new watch I ordered was.
Amazon.com: Black Military Analog Wrist Watch for Men, Mens Army Field Tactical Sport Watches Work Watch, Waterproof Outdoor Casual Quartz Wristwatch - Imported Japanese Movement, 5ATM Waterproof : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Amazon.com: Black Military Analog Wrist Watch for Men, Mens Army Field Tactical Sport Watches Work Watch, Waterproof Outdoor Casual Quartz Wristwatch - Imported Japanese Movement, 5ATM Waterproof : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
I like this, it's comfortable, only downside is I can't read the date unless I wear my arm extender glasses.
Well I just got today
Amazon.com: Casio Wristwatch (Model: GA110-1B), Black : Casio: Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Amazon.com: Casio Wristwatch (Model: GA110-1B), Black : Casio: Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
I got it free so it is what it is. But wore it for about 15 minutes and my wrist itches like crazy that quick.
So looking at getting a couple of these.
Amazon.com: Benchmark Basics Nylon Watch Band - Waterproof Ballistic Nylon One-Piece Military Watch Straps for Men & Women - Choice of Color & Width - 18mm, 20mm, 22mm or 24mm (18mm, Black) : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry

I'll replace both bands as the first one is starting to wear at the holes.

I'm a watch traditionalist but I must admit that's quite good looking for a smart watch. That heart monitoring function should prove very useful for monitoring your health. They need to expand their list of recommended activities (Climbing, Diving, Running, etc) to include: Not Dying.

It also comes pre-loaded with the layouts to thousands of golf courses, integrated with the GPS. Tells you exactly how much further you need to hit that bloody ball until you can get back to the air-conditioned bar in the clubhouse.

I'm more of a mini golf fan myself.

My biggest foe is that damned windmill on Hole 7. :gonk:

Some interesting (if dated) information on the Casio F91W that I thought was pretty wild.

https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-13194733

"...wearing one has been a contributing factor to the continued detention of some prisoners, with more than 50 detainee reports referring to the watch."

Some more recent analysis here:

https://www.watchesofespionage.com/blogs/woe-dispatch/casio-f-91w-the-preferred-watch-of-terrorists

"However, the watch that is coveted by hipsters and former presidents alike has a more sinister utility: it has been used to deadly effect as a timer for explosive charges and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and worn regularly by members of al-Qaeda, ISIS and other transnational militant groups."

Damn. I guess this puts me on some sort of terrorist "watch" list. :smiley_crocodile:

Ok, that joke alone is grounds for arrest. On closer inspection, that's the dreaded al-Zawahiri Special Edition!

So I canceled the order for the Huawei GT 3 Pro. It was taking too long for the seller to ship it (shipping date kept getting pushed back) and placed an order with a different seller (www.grooves.land) for the Huawei GT 4 when my wife told me to go ahead and use the household account to buy it. (She'd gotten the final settlement from her mom's estate)

After I got my refund from that first seller I looked to see how much the GT 3 Pro was on the other site... almost $100 cheaper. :eek1:

Yeah, I bought it too. :awesome:

The GT 4 shipped yesterday. The GT 3 Pro will probably ship today or tomorrow.

I never posted the Seiko I finally ended up getting. It's the classic Seiko dive watch. I had one in the 80s. That one of my best friends in the Corps gave me. Who recently died in Texas on his Police bike.

I wore it for years. Until one day I accidently dropped it down a running garbage disposal.

I also got one for my son. But with the red on the dial. Its the last image.

This is what it looked like when I bought it.

But I put the original stainless band on it.

I am a bit of brute when it comes to watches. I almost exclusively wear Casio G-Shock, as they're cheap and resistant to the hell I put them through. I have 2-3 on the go at anytime. My work gave us all apple watches last year for Christmas for the stellar year we had (we're also given iphones) so that is used for showing up looking pretty for clients or when on-call leave it on the wrist and it vibrates like crazy when there is a call, but the g-shock is there for weekends or when I am on the tools opening up doors/windows.
