I saw this and am justing thinking out loud.

You can buy this to connect your earpro to your handheld two way. For around $48.

This gives you the ability to hear while firing a gun, increase the volume and clarity of surrounded sound - hear better than with your bare ears, and communicate via two way handheld radio - while shooting with other team members.

Or you can buy this for $14 and a rx/tx Bluetooth adapter for your two way handheld radio for $5(?):

This "theoretically" replaces the above $50 unit. It transmits between the ear pro and your two way radios using BT. But the description does not specifically say that.

So I am wondering if others have an opinion?

I have not researched this to see if others are using it the same way. And/or if it performs as well as the $50 wired unit. I would assume the wired unit is much more durable and dependable.

But thought it a worthy conversation. Especially from those that might have personal experience or knowledge of decent reviews of either. These are not the cheapest or best sellers I have posted. But both units routinely get very good reviews on AliExpress. From a number of different sellers. Which does not prove anything. But usually when a product sucks you can see it in reviews if it's being sold by multiple sellers that it sucks in at least some of the sellers reviews. It's hard to find a bad product, sold my multiple users, with good reviews on each sellers sales page. Does that make sense?

I've had one of these in my AE cart for months now but I keep not pulling the trigger on it because I can't think of a single situation that I'd need it.  Maybe I'm just not imaginative enough but the only place I use earpro is the range, and I have never felt a need to use a HT there.  If I were still working construction...possibly, but even that would be rare.

It's for fire and maneuver when you are shooting and communicating with someone else. You've got your earpro on. But you also want to speak on the radio while shooting. While also not giving up your ear protection. It's also as silent as possible. As the rx end is in your headphones. And you can whisper into the boom mic. But the earpro also enhances your hearing (as you know) by amplifying surrounding sound.

So it's kind of a bit of a super power. Shooting, communicating with your party discreetly, protecting your hearing, while enhancing the sounds around you so you can hear better than just your natural ears.

(Not sure if it's duplex to the extent you can hear your own voice as well. In terms of gauging how loud your taking. We'll see.)

The price of the full wired unit is down to $35 right now. And I wasn't sure the bt adapter for the radio would be good enough. Also for a shtf situation I think you'd want the more rugged wired solution. And the price is to close now. Might as well get the wired units.

Stateside this kind of functionality is very very expensive. Like Sordin system expensive. They are the ones you usually see on ballistic helmuts. This is a much cheaper but functional version of that.

For traveling in a shtf with companions with weapons. This seems like a crucial idea.

Lots of stuff on deep discount at AliExpress right now. 60% off. I think they are trying to compete with Prime Days.

See, being disabled, 'shoot-n-scoot' is not a factor for me.

I'm intrigued. I have a pair of the Walkers Slim Patriots and they are absolutely a super power. The sound is incredibly crisp, and the impulse noise cancellation is so precise that it's like some sort of black magic. If I bring a newbie to the range, I'll let him/her use them, so that they can hear instructions clearly.

The first time someone puts them on, they look at me like they're hearing the Beatles for the first time.

Alas, I only have one pair, but if I had another, I could absolutely see the use for a microphone hooked up to a radio.

They are for sure a super power. The enhanced heating is great for hunting. From what I've heard. And I can hear everything on the range.

The radio interface is a game changer. Being able to communicate while still having earpro, and enhanced hearing is huge. Normally such a system is many hundreds of dollars. Howard Leights/Walkers $50?, Baofeng $20?, and this set up $40. Your at about $120. Normally it's like $600+.

I have a setup like that with with an Otto headset on a Team Wendy Helmet and a  Disco 32 adapter on my MARS/CAP'd FT-60. While "tactical" use usually comes to mind, I could imagine it being well used in a rescue / recovery environment where heavy equipment is in use but you still want to be able to hear other members of a team.

These units are $39.99 now. I have two. But have not had a chance to test yet. Seem very well made. It's not a light gauge piece of China crap. Seems really well made. But we'll see.
