Any attempt to move ZS content over to here?

We should make an effort as a group to try to move some of the more valuable content to here. 

Any ideas? 

We can try to find our own best content and move it. But many members are gone. Some permenantly.

I actually have a .pdf copy of almost all of the "Bugging Out to Wal-Mart, Costco, Sams Club: No!" thread.  I had created a downloadable version of it back in 2016 and I went back out to the thread last year just before the forum shut down and grabbed the newer content as well.  I just need to merge them all and then I can post it.

Just to put it out there... Raptor and I recently renewed the ufozs.com domain name.  Paid in advance for ten years (ICANN maximum allowed).  So while we can't guarantee "forever", we can say that our intentions are to keep this place going for at least the next decade.

And stopped participating in the forum. Which was even weirder given the success of the forum back then. And admins seemed to change daily. Somehow it kept the same membership of fairly open intelligent people. 

But I can see why someone would not want their home address and phone number on any forum they owned.

I remember looking up there whois info. But iirc it was a company. And i never went any further than that. I could have. I own a PI firm. But I did contact them using an email i found somewhere and made an offer to buy the forum. But it was never replied to. So I stopped persuing it.

Thats what i dont get either. It had to have value right? I'm not an internet marketer. Beyond hiring someone to do our seo. And running a retail site with bigcommerce. I dont remember the traffic on zs specifically. But it had to be enough to generate a fair amount of ad revenue.

Why not sell it? Or at least give the memborship an opportunity to at least save the data? 

I don't recall if there were ads or any known revenue from the site. Other than its potential value. But after everyone that contributed so much to it. It seems like a huge fuck you to the membership. Please excuse my French. But thats how I honestly feel. We were all there of our own free will. But to just shut it off. After the large amount of effort we out into it. Is just astounding.

I love this. Its been along time since i read this. This was almost pre internet. Or at least that time that came when you couldnt bullshit everybody at the bar anymore. Because everyone got smart phones and could use google. 

Those were good days too though. The stories you would hear were so creative. The endless round robins of the urban legend that would morph county by county. As it was told over and over. Lmao. 

I had a good friend at that time that had so many great bar tales. One of those guys that could remember 500 good jokes verbatim. I somehow miss those days. Conversations flowed in a different way back then. Even if 75 percent of it was bullshit. Lol.

Was it just my imagination, or wasn't it back online for awhile after initial shutdown, and we were able to look old threads up for info?  I could have sworn it was, because I have a laundry list of topics I bookmarked and was reading through a few not to long ago.
